Professor Chris Slootweg of the Van ‘t Hoff Institute for Molecular Sciences (HIMS) will co-lead a 5-year research line into large-scale hydrogen storage. This research project is being funded with €5.4 million and is part of the larger €18 million HyTROS research and development programme.

The 3 Dutch ‘top sectors’ of Chemistry, Energy, and High Tech Systems and Materials in GroenvermogenNL cooperate to accelerate the market for green hydrogen and green chemistry. A few days ago it announced its first research programme: Hydrogen Transport, Offshore, and Storage (HyTROS). This programme focuses on (pipeline) transportation, above and underground storage, offshore transportation and storage, and safety.
