Panikos Georgallis is an Associate Professor of Strategy at the Amsterdam Business School, University of Amsterdam (UvA). He holds a PhD in Strategic Management from HEC Paris.
Panikos' research examines why firms are differentially affected by their social, political, and natural environment; and how firm heterogeneity matters for broader social systems, such as markets and communities. His work focuses on sustainability contexts, and typically deals with how firms interact with social movements and governments.
Panikos' research has been published in leading journals such as Administrative Science Quarterly, Organization Science, Journal of Management Studies, and Journal of International Business Studies among others. His articles have received several best paper awards and finalist positions at the Academy of Management and other major conferences, and in 2025 he received the SO! WHAT award for scholarly contribution for the article "Toward a theory of entry in moral markets: the role of social movements and organizational identity", which he co-authored (with Brandon Lee) in 2020. Panikos is also the recipient of several grants, including the Strategy Research Foundation Dissertation Scholars Grant and the prestigious Dutch NWO Veni grant, and his research is frequently covered in practitioner and policy outlets (e.g. EU Research Journal, Open Access Government, The Gulf Times, LSE Business Review).
